About Hung T. Tran
In 1992, I was born in Da Nang, Vietnam where I lived until the age of 4 years old. Thinking back, it was not the best living situation, but I was young and didn’t have a care in the world to understand the struggles my parents went through. Mom ran a small cart selling convenience store items. Dad rode an old-fashioned three-wheeled bike taxi called a “cyclo.” Both hustled day and night to make the bare minimum.
1996 was the year we embarked on a new journey for a new life. We were the last of my dad’s side of the family to move to the U.S.A. After landing in San Francisco, it felt like visiting the future. From the buildings to the technology, everything felt foreign and beyond my time.
Since then we’ve moved around the states a lot for various of reasons, and it’s influenced my behavior a lot. It’s hard for me to stay still as my mind is constantly wandering about. My inability to stay still comes from my dad as well. My family had always told stories about my dad constantly roaming throughout Vietnam – hitcing on trains and living in multiple cities – before he met my mom.
Currently, I’m based in Tempe, Arizona where I have been since 2010, but you’ll constantly see me roaming around. I travel a lot, and I intend to travel more. Food, experiencing cultures, and the outdoors is what drives my travel cravings.
About Hungry for Adventures
This website is my expression of how I am always hungry for adventure. I spend a lot of my free time outdoors, traveling, and doing photography. In 2015 I graduated from Arizona State University and pursued a career in digital marketing. At the same time, I decided I wanted to use my skills to create an inspiring platform that will inspire people to be active in the great outdoors. Using my digital marketing and photography skills, I created Hungry for Adventures. Hungry for adventures is now a hub for my photo gallery as well as a guide and blog for travel and hiking for those who are looking for new adventures.
This site will showcase my photography portfolio as well as some hiking guides, travel guides, and photography guides and blogs – hopefully, this will inspire you to be hungry for adventure.
